Oct - Review policies, if any, for recommendation to the board
Jan - Review policies, if any, for recommendation to the board
Set preliminary merit increases for budget
Mar - Review benefits/insurance renewal rates
May - Review policies, if any, for recommendation to the board, Plan for Executive Director annual review
June - Executive Director Annual Review
Responsibilities of the Personnel Committee:
Act as a sub-group/committee of the SELCO Board of Directors.
Provide counsel for the Executive Director.
Conduct Personnel Policies reviews.
Review & approve employee salary grid, employee benefit package.
Set merit/COLA increase percentage.
Provide guidance for both Board and Employee grievance.
Meetings:
Meets 5-6 times per year.
Both online and in person meetings
Any board member can attend, but only members of the committee will have voting privileges.
Personnel Committee Charge:
Responsible for approving employee salary grid and benefit package, reviewing personnel policies and committee procedures, providing guidance on grievances for Board and staff, and conducting an annual evaluation of the Executive Director. The committee would also receive personnel-related updates and serve as a resource for the Executive Director.
Membership: The Committee Chair is the Secretary of the Board, and members are appointed by the Board Chair
Authority:
The committee presents recommendations to the full board on the assigned topics of each meeting.
